new book series with Alber/ Nomos on “Studies in Philosophy of Economics”

We are launching a new book series with Alber/ Nomos on “Studies in Philosophy of Economics.” Philosophy of economics addresses fundamental questions of economics, such as the nature of economic behaviour, the role of markets and institutions, the distribution of resources, and the relationship between the economy, state, and society. This includes not only normative but also ontological and epistemological questions.

Philosophy of economics also includes treatises that deal with the history of economic thought or the socio-cultural preconditions of capitalism. Last but not least, current topics, such as digitalization, sustainability, post-growth, democracy and work, consumer and corporate responsibility, alternative models of prosperity, or the limits of globalization will be dealt with in the series.

Our book series does not follow any particular school or methodology but represents an interdisciplinary approach characterized by open and original reflection on economic processes and theories.

We publish monographs, anthologies, and translations in German and English.

Editor of this series is Ludger Heidbrink, KC PPE, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel.

Prof. Dr. Thomas Beschorner serves as a member of the editorial board together with Jana Friedrichsen, Susanne Hahn, Ludger Heidbrink, Thomas S. Hoffmann, Marc Huebscher, Matthias Kettner, Christian Neuhäuser, Ingo Pies, Peter Seele, Markus Scholz, and Andreas Suchanek.
