Dr. Tshivhase is a senior lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, University of Pretoria. In addition to African metaphysics and Afro-personhood theories, she teaches African and Western philosophical traditions of ethics. Her research interests are existential uniqueness, personhood, and themes of love, autonomy, authenticity, death, aspects of race and feminism, as well as social ethics of AI. She has collaborated in academic activities at the Center for Advanced Studies in Multiple Research group at Bayreuth University in Germany, and the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research: AI & Society Research Group. She is the co-editor of the Handbook of African Philosophy (Springer 2023).
