Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kernbach

Prof. Dr. Sebastian Kernbach works as an Assistant Professor at the School of Management (SoM) at the University of St.Gallen, as a Visiting Professor at the Central University of Beijing and as a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University.

His connection to the African continent stems from his role as Visiting Professor at the African Doctoral Academy at Stellenbosch University, where he works with doctoral students, post-docs, and faculty from across the continent and supervises the MBA program at Stellenbosch University. He also works for the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at the University of Cape Town (UCT).

His areas of expertise range from knowledge visualization, storytelling and meeting management to design thinking, positive psychology and behavioral economics. His award-winning and best-selling books cover topics such as MeetUp! (www.meetup-book.com), Creativity in Research with his Stanford team (www.CreativityInResearch.org), and Life Design (www.LifeDesignLab.ch). He runs the Life Design Lab, the Visual Collaboration Lab and one of his projects is called "the science of action" and aims to find strategies to overcome procrastination and the intention-action gap.
